Antique Georgian Diamond and Garnet Giardinetti Ring

A remarkable giardinetti or "little garden" ring (circa 1740-1760)!

This rare Georgian ring is adorned with table cut and rose cut diamonds in rubbed over silver collets and a garnet "basket." The face of the ring is silver with subtle rose gold accents and the original band is a matching pale rose gold.

The face of the ring measures 0.75 inches wide by 0.7 inches tall. It is a size 5.75 and in outstanding condition for the age of the piece.

There is a tiny hole that was drilled on the underside of the giardinetti behind the garnet (presumably to allow light to pass through the stone). This hole was drilled at a later time and is not original to the piece.

Materials: diamond, garnet, rose gold, silver.
